Sponee ("we", "us", "our") operates the Sponee mobile application and related services (collectively, the "Service").
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information about you when you use the Service.
By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
Beta / Testing Notice
This application is currently in an early access testing phase.
Features, data-handling behavior, and infrastructure may change as we improve the Service.
During the beta phase, diagnostic and analytical data may be collected automatically to improve stability and performance.
By participating in testing, you acknowledge that some features are experimental and may be modified or removed before the final release.

2. What We Collect
We collect and process the following categories of information:
- Account & Identity — Firebase Authentication identifiers (UID), email (if Email/Password login), Google profile data (if Google Sign-In), display name, avatar, and sports preferences or skills you add.
- Usage & Device Data — app events, crash logs, performance metrics (via Firebase Crashlytics and Analytics), device model, OS version, timestamps, FCM push tokens.
- Location — if enabled, approximate or precise location to show nearby venues or partners (processed locally and/or via Google Maps Platform).
- Content You Provide — profile information, chat messages, team or event details, uploaded photos, or feedback.
We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal data (such as health, biometric, or financial information) unless explicitly provided by you for a specific feature.
3. How We Use Data
We use collected data to:
- Provide and improve the Service
- Personalize your experience
- Communicate updates and service messages
- Analyze crashes, bugs, and feedback
- Ensure security, prevent fraud, and comply with laws
4. Legal Bases (GDPR)
Our processing is based on:
- Contract (to provide the Service)
- Legitimate interests (security, improvement, analytics)
- Consent (notifications, precise location, optional analytics)
- Legal obligations
You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior processing.
5. Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell personal data.
We share limited data only with:
- Service providers: Google Firebase (Auth, Messaging, Crashlytics, Analytics), Google Maps Platform (maps, geolocation), hosting and email delivery partners.
- Authorities: When required by law.
- Business transitions: With appropriate safeguards.
All subprocessors comply with applicable privacy laws.
6. International Transfers
Your data may be processed in the EU, EEA, or US.
Where required, we apply Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or equivalent safeguards.
7. Data Retention
We keep personal data only as long as necessary or required by law.
When you delete your account, your personal data is erased or anonymized (see Section 10).
Aggregated, non-personal analytics may remain.

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access, correct, or delete your data
- Restrict or object to processing
- Request data portability
- Withdraw consent
- File a complaint with a data authority

9. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under the legal minimum age in their country (usually 13 or 16).
If we learn that a child has submitted data, we will delete it promptly.
10. Account Deletion & Data Removal
You can delete your account at any time directly in the app:
Profile screen → Delete account (permanent)
When you delete your account, your personal information, profile data, and identifiers are erased or anonymized.
Messages or content previously shared with others may remain visible to those users for continuity of conversations, but without any identifying information (e.g., replaced by "Deleted User").
Minimal records may remain for fraud prevention, security, or legal compliance.
11. Security
We use reasonable organizational and technical measures to protect data.
However, no online service is fully secure, and use of the Service is at your own risk.
12. Third-Party Services and Links
Our Service integrates with:
- Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Messaging, Crashlytics, Analytics)
- Google Maps Platform (maps, places, geocoding)
These providers process data under their own privacy policies.
We are not responsible for external websites or their practices.
12.1. OpenStreetMap Data Attribution
Some geographic data in the Sponee app (including coordinates of sports venues) are sourced from OpenStreetMap and its contributors, available under the Open Database License (ODbL 1.0).
13. Regional Applicability
Some features may not be available in all regions.
Local privacy laws may grant you additional rights.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy periodically.
Updates will be posted at https://sponee.com/privacy with a new "Last updated" date.
Material updates may be announced in-app.
